Brazil Visitor E-Visa Is Online

Pablo888

All,

I have been monitoring the e-visa for Citizen of Australia, Canada, and US deployment progress and this popped up on Dec 1, 2023.

You can apply online for the e-visa at .

This is entirely online and should be painless.

I will figure this out next month ahead of my carnival visit.

If anyone experiences issues, please feel free to post.

Enjoy.

12/05/23  Anyone considering a e-visa should review the FAQ from the site.

Note that the Foreign Ministry is suggesting applying two months prior to your trip, and that if for any reason your e-visa application is rejected, you can still apply for a Consular Visa.

Happy travels!

Thank you @abthree for the additional caution here.  I did not read the fine print and I will apply asap for my Feb visit.

Also noticed that @rraypo has beaten me to that announcement on Dec 2, 2023.  All interested, please look at the forum posts of Dec 2 and you will get additional information about that e-visa.

No worries, this is one of those cases where having duplicate threads is probably a net positive.  Once we get past Christmas, I predict that a LOT of people are going to be half-panicked and looking for information on this subject ASAP, and the more chances they have of getting a hit, the faster they'll know and the fewer threads of their own they'll start repeating the same question.

Just an update on the Brazil E-Visa for business and tourists.  As far as I know, the e-visa is still needed for visitors from Australia, Canada, and the US.

Effective date:  April 10, 2025.

It does not seem that there will be an extension this time....

Link to apply for e-visa ->

Just to be safe, allow for 2 weeks for processing.  It should take a lot less but your application may rejected based on some silly reasons - like unclear picture or wrong size - and you will need to re-submit.

Good luck.

Yep.  I just checked the website of the Brazilian Consulate-General in Chicago, and it looks like it's going to happen this time.

Q Can anyone confirm that a foreigner from Australia, Canada, and the US who currently hold an RNM does NOT need an e-visa to enter Brazil after April 10th

Thx!

That's true.  Just show your valid passport and your CRNM.

Just got feedback from my sister who applied for the E-Visa from Seattle, the turnaround for the visa issue was around 4 days after submission.

My brother who applied for the E-Visa from Ottawa, the turnaround was an amazing 2 days...

Just FYI, everything is online - but once you get the e-visa by email, you may have to print out the page as I am not sure that the Brazil immigration officers will accept viewing online....

Better be safe than sorry.

Good luck.
