I reckon a couple of thousand euros (and up) for a new borehole. But it depends on how deep you want to go, and whether you want just the drilling, or a fully-finished, working one complete with pump/tank/pipework/cover, etc. My neighbour near Kazanlak does this, and he drills a lot of holes all over Bulgaria.

It's fairly unregulated here, and that, combined with hotter/drier weather, means the water level is falling. Modern technology can make much deeper wells than most traditional ones, so most of my village neighbours have upgraded theirs.

However, I don't think there are many that rely only on well water, it's usually a back-up (and a cheaper way of watering the garden). As most village house now have potential access to mains water, maybe it's worth considering spending your money on a mains connection first?
