Solid reliable business ideas?

Looking for advice from those with experience. Researching possible businesses to buy into (not necessarily operate hands on myself - fronted by Filipinos) for about 1 or 1.5 million php. Prefer Davao or Cebu but Manila is 3rd option. Some ideas i have gleaned just by browsing for sale ads online are self service laundromat (couldn't find one in Davao last time I was there, although they must be there somewhere), generic drug pharmacy, bakery franchise, established water refilling station. Frustrating part is they almost never put their gross or nett in ads. I am looking for something proven and solid/reliable. Currently in Oz, thinking about the big jump or even just sponsoring someone else into a business (a good friend, not partner).

If you think you can run an absentee owner business here, just give me your money. Open an Internet Cafe and the equipment will be sold, a sari sari store the profits will literally be eaten, a fish farm the fish will never grow because the big ones will be replaced with small ones without you being told about it. I can give you many more true story examples but I think you get the idea.
