Ping Pong/Table Tennis

Chambo34

I have been learning to play Beach Tennis on my trips to Vila Velha, Espirito Santo. Beach Tennis is everywhere. However, I am also an accomplished ping pong/table tennis player and would like to meet up with other accomplished players. Does anyone know of any local clubs I could join? Or is there a website such as Meetup.com like we have in the US? The building where I stay has a table and I would very much like to have guests over to play.

Instagram is probably your best resource in Brazil. According to my wife they call it by the name PING PONG in Brazil. No doubt pronouced PINGY PONGY. BTW, which beaches in Vila Velha are your favorites? I occasionally head into the Big City to visit relatives. If you’re around when I visit we could play a few sets of PINGY PONGY.

Good luck..

I found info about ping pong in Vitoria. You can probably make connections via these outfits. One is on instagram, the other uses facebook (it’s a sports school).

Also look into pickleball.  It's like pingpong played on a badminton-size court, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Here in Governador Valadares, MG ("where it all started" back in 2018), we have beginners up to advanced+, pre-teens to 80 years old.  We'll be hosting the 3rd Latin American Open  on August 15-17, with 150-200 players from all over Brazil, Latin America,  the US, Europe, even Tahiti planning to participate.  Look up Confederação Brasileira de Pickleball on Instagram for a more comprehensive look at the sport here in Brazil.
