Environmental protection in Argentina

Kenjee

Hi,

Environmental protection is a challenging issue for all the countries around the world. Would you say this issue is deemed of significance in Argentina?

Is the country going green through initiatives like waste management and selective sorting programs, renewable energies, public transport, green awareness campaigns and so forth?

How do you personally commit to improve the environment in your daily life?

We would greatly appreciate if you could tell us more about the various local initiatives for sustainable development in Argentina.

Many thanks in advance!

Hi,

Back in October, supermarkets started charging 40 cents for recyclable plastic bags as a way to get people to start using those reusable bags. I've seen recycling bins where people can deposit their cardboard, plastics and recyclable glass bottles in specific bins. But that's only in the 'nicer' neighborhoods.

For the most part, littering appears to be a major issue in neighborhoods and in the city of Cordoba where I've been living for the last 4 years.
