Time to leave the US

marthacasey

My name is Marti and my husband and I are retired, living on savings and US social security.  We want to leave the US but would like to stay in North America but I’m concerned about the cost of living in Canada.  We have a dog as well who will be coming with us.  We don’t require anything extravagant, in fact a relatively remote cabin would be great and we do love snow and cold weather.  Are there places anyone can recommend that might fit the bill?

Hi Marti.  I have posed pretty much the same scenario on here and I’m told that Canada has no retirement visa. I think the longest that you can stay in Canada is six months. I’m looking more towards Ireland which has a more liberal immigrant policy. Good luck with your search. I hope you get some answers here.
