Greetings! I am Lakshmi writing to you from India. I am a college teacher in India. I am Hepatitis B positive and would like to know from you if i would be allowed to work in Dubai. As i am a new entrant, i think i would be asked to take all the medical tests through GAMCA. And, i am afraid i will not be given a visa. Could you please clarify my doubts and advice me on how i could work in Dubai? As I do not fall under the six categories mentioned by the Dubai medical council, would i be permitted to work in Dubai?

I heard that new entrants are not permitted to work with Hepatitis B positive. If this is true, could you suggest any  means of gaining job in Dubai.

Also, i read in the threads of the forum that new entrants could come to Dubai on a visiting visa and find jobs. Is it advisable? If i disqualify in the medical exam , will i be deported? I shall be thankful to you if you could suggest me some ways on how to gain a job in Dubai by considering my health condition.

Hi good day! I have Hepatitis B-Reactive and applying as an operations manager in a construction company in UAE-Dubai. I've read some articles about this case and it says that the test for hepatitis B has been relaxed and only applicable if the job you're applying falls in six categories.
If I applied for working visa, do I need to undergo this kind of test and if found positive I will be deported? Please share information about this case.

I just want to know if mom my can return back to uae after getting the result of hpb she applied as a nanny job and got deported. We want to apply her a visit visa or tourist visa. Hope you can answer and help me

If there was an eyescan or fingerprint, no.

That is why, you NEVER bring someone on a nanny visa.............apply for a proper dependent visa.

@XTang  they did the eye scan and finger print. there is a chance to revoked the ban and apply at least for visit visa or tourist visa?shes alone in our country and already 60 years old.

As I said, you cannot remove it.  Unless you know someone very senior in the government who can intervene on your behalf.  Outside of that, forget about it.

I don't think you are understanding. I was trying to tell you that unless you know someone very senior like at a minister level or Royal (at that level department doesn't matter), there is no chance to remove this ban.  Just let it go and move on.

Just to answer and clarify all the confusion made in the forum: YES A BIG YES you can work here in UAE and we are welcome here just make sure you don't fall in 6 categories. Atleast I myself can confirm this.

    I am not sure why people persist in giving wrong information based on anecdotal incidents.  Please refer to official GOVERNMENT communication.  See the link below:https://government.ae/en/information-and-services/health-and-fitness/health-conditions-for-uae-residence-visa. You don't have to worry if you are not within these six categories as listed on the site.  Also click on the last link i.e. residence visa medical tests to see what tests are done.        -@XTang

Just to answer and clarify for the update this 2024 year: IT IS A BIG YES you can work here in UAE just make sure your work will not fall in any of 6 categories. Atleast I myself can confirmed. Thank you so much bro

i planned to visit a family member in dubai for 2 month which is visit visa and i have hepatitis b and i dont want to tell him and he will also be the one to book the visa for me. is it necessary for me to fill it on the visa form that i have it

and i heard if i dont say it out

hepatitis b symptoms can be detected in dubai airport through some scanning and i will be directed to go through blood test if found,Then i will be delorted

please can i still apply cause i would love to visit dubai and am not planning to work

For visit or tourism visa, there is no medical test. 

Hep B impact on Job offer!!!

I had been following this forum for couple of months. The information had been superb.  I am Hep B chronic case from India and had been going through a job opportunity to work as Sw Engg with a top financial company in Dubai. I went through the interview process and secured an offer but when i went through their onboarding process, i got to see the medical test requirements where HIV, TB and Hep B was mentioned.

I talked to HR and told them about Hep B and shared the UAE website and other links where its mentioned that Hep B test is only mandatory for 6 categories. HR kept discussing with their internal visa and onboarding teams and revoked my offer after 3 weeks saying that they have concluded that it can be a problem for visa and immigration processing which is absolutely false and feels discriminated where the rules say otherwise.

i could Not have shared with them and may had got fit certificate from DHA as hep B doesnt matter for my job role but I thought of sharing it with them to avoid any onboarding issue.

So as the rule is clear that Hep B positive people can work except 6 categories but the employer may have their internal policy and may not allow internally.

its  a heart break for me as the offer was completed and revoked later but I am hopeful to land a job and can move to UAE.

I  have  been  following  this  thread  for  quite  some  time now .I  am  writing  to  let  u  know  that a close friend of mine    is  having   hep b  and is working  here  for  last  12  years.  As  many  times  pointed  out  by   xtang,  rejection  of  visa  is  mainly  for personnel  involved  in  6  professions. If  you  disclose  the  status, some  employer  may  not  accept  . It’s  better  to proceed for visa  medical  without   letting   the  employer  know about  the  status  .

Hello guys! My husband is going to work in Dubai, and I will have to get a residence permit as a spouse. Since childhood, I have been a carrier of the hepatitis B virus. Can I get a residence permit under this category if I have hepatitis B? Please share either your experience or knowledge. I will be very grateful!

There is no issue as I have mentioned many times - unless you are in the 6 professions.

Guys, I apologize for being so persistent, I have to write here again regarding my wife's visa. I have hepatitis B. I ask lawyers, they give completely contradictory information on the question of whether I can get a visa or not. Do you have contacts of proven lawyers who could help? I am in a state of despair.

Read through the whole thread.  Don't waste your money on lawyers - they don't know anything.

Go and read this on the official government website:

Even for workers, outside of 6 professions, they are given a work visa - this is what it says.  So for dependents, it does NOT matter.

I have explained this repeatedly on this and many other threads.  Before wasting your money, read through all of them and don't rely on my word - read the actual experiences of people.

Hi, I got hired as a telephone operator in a hotel. I understand that you'll be given a working visa if it will not fall under the 6 categories. I am just confused if hotel is considered as restaurant, because the category says workers in restaurant. I will not be handling food nor work in a restaurant in the hotel, just confuse if the hotel itself is considered as a restaurant, btw the hotel's name is Capitol Hotel in Dubai. Thank you.

I’ve been reading this forum, specifically this thread for a while and feeling exactly like you - confused and stressed.

I got an offer from a company, moved to the UAE, didn’t inform my employer about my hepatitis b and passed the medical test yesterday. I heard from many people who live in the UAE that oooooo if someone has hepatitis B, uae deports immediately. That’s bs!!

if you have hepatitis B and you are not going to work in those 6 categories DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT AT ALL.
