Survivors of CSA as Altarboys.

I'm one. In recovery, finally. Got a nice settlement from archdiocese. Giving most away as charity. Physician, child/family behavioral health and public health specialist. Planning on spending part of each year in EU working as volunteeer with traumatised refugeees. Several EU languages on board. Wondering if others here have had similar challenges relating to the Church.

My first installment of memoirs will focus on the setting of the CSA, how clericalism made much of the scandals possible and a child psychiatrist's discourse on the damages. Future books deal with recoveries and obtaining/avoiding help. Resilience differences play a large part, as do access to effective help, breaking shame and denial, recoveries from substance use disorders, avoiding suicide, surviving incarceration and family/community shunning, and much more. Stay tunes. Aaltarboy.
