I started to have lessons with Idiomas 24/7, you can fit your lessons in anytime you like. Unfortunately I didn't finish my course of lessons due to an increase in my workload and finding time has been difficult.

There are a few places that have intercambio nights around the city, mainly Irish pubs.  There is one in Plaze de la Reina that have them every other Thursday night, I have not been yet as 've not had the time but am planning on going very soon.

If your not familiar with intercambio it's basically like an exchange night, Spanish speaking people and English speaking people, both trying to improve their grasp of each language.

I would like to add that I am not affiliated with any of the above, it's just my experience so far!

I am looking for additional tips on Spanish lessons.  The typical intensive/vacation type programs will not work for us, probably private lessons.  We'd like to do something from 1-3 times/week in the mornings, group or private or tutor.  If anyone knows of any resources or good places to find individual teachers, I would appreciate the feedback.  Thanks!

By the way, there's a good intercambio on Thursday and Sundays (recently moved to Bar Seven)--you can find it on Facebook (Valencia Languages Exchange) or on Couchsurfing.  Large, active group.

Good resources idiomasazahar.com he also does lessons is expensive but very productive because he is actually a teacher

I visited Valencia and decided to learn Spanish and I came accross this school called Taronja school. I was impressed by their hospitality and I will say try them and you will never regret it. I was speaking Spanish within 3 months.  Here is an example of what I learnt and thier link to the site.

If you are looking for a good Spanish school in Spain, you can go to Tia Tula en Salamanca. I'm currently there and I'm having a great time. The school offers classes in small groups or individual classes. It also offer distance learning classes via skype. In addition to the classes, the school can provide accomodation (in shared flat or in a family) and it also offers extra-curicular activities. For example, yesterday there was a sort of treasure hunt through the city to learn more about the famous places and today there is a cooking class. It's fun but at the same time we practice a lot beacause everything is in Spanish (don't worry if you don't have a good level in Spanish, the students help each other)
