I still am unemployed, but got a fast lege?

Grandyham

Good morning,

maybe someone can help me/had been in a similiar situation:

I  got via mail a "fastlege" last week, but I am still not employed, only registered at the NAV with my national ID: have I somehow a health insurance, should I break a leg or get sick?

My appointment at the NAV today was cancelled a few hours before, otherwise I would have asked that there. Without a Bank ID (the bank is working on that, but without a job and without having been at the police - waiting line 5 months in Oslo at the moment) it s all a bit difficult....

Thanks for your help

Andreas

Hello Andreas. Yes, you have right to a fastlege as soon as you are registered on the Folkeregistret, so when you get your personnummer, you just have to connect to Helsenorge to see who they have "given" you. If you want to change fastlege its possible. You can do it twice a year on HelseNorge but if you change on the 15th of the month it will onl start on the 1st of the next month.

If you break a leg or have any injury, the health system will cover up for you. There might be some fees but mostly its free, once you have the frikort. Its a system wich is a sort of determined amount that, once reached give you free access to any service : It's around 3400 nok now; for now, as we are at the end of the year, unless you use a LOT of medicine, you may have to pay without reaching the frikort. If you can wait for certain things to be done, sart to pay things like medicine from the 1st of january.
