Venetian pistachio cake

bhomis

Hi.  We recently returned from Venice, and I was wondering if a local could help me with a question.  On Strada Nuova in the Ca D'Oro section, we stopped at a bakery / pastry shop that sold an extremely delicious dessert they called "Torta Veneziana al Pistacchio".  It was SO good.
My wife wanted to try to make it here at home, but we can't find any information about it.  Is this a common Venetian dessert?  Does anyone know where I could find a recipe (I don't mind if it's in Italian)?  Does it go by another name?
Thanks in advance.

Hey, thank you very much.  I don't know the name of the place, but it was across the street from the McDonald's in Ca D'Oro.  It may not be directly across the street, but it's in that general vicinity, and their pistachio cake was displayed in their window.

I'm looking forward to this, so I really appreciate your help.

Thanks again.

In doing a little more research, I think I found the place.  I believe it's called Pasticceria Bar Giovanni Pitteri (Cannaregio 3843/A Strada Nova alla Ca' d'Oro).
