Change of address within Munich

GREF

Hello all,
I have moved to a new place since early April within Munich. After that I went back to my home country to work remotely until further notice.
I know I need to go to the townhall and register my change of address.
a) Is there a chance I can do this remotely?
b) if not, are you familiar with any °µÍø½ûÇø services that can do this for me through a power of attorney?
c) I believe I read somewhere that the timeline to change your address is 2 weeks, however due to Corona it's moved to 3 months. If the first till applies I am 1 month post deadline. Are you familiar with the potential consequences or if the second is true?

a. This depends on the local authority. Some towns are more advances than others, but  believe most will accept registrations sent by post. Call them and ask about the options!
b. I have never head of any.
c. Such things are not normally persecuted. But you must make sure that letters sent to the old address still reach you!

Information from the official Munich website regarding possibility of registration by post:

During the pandemic, I haven't heard that the deadlines for registration are being enforced but generally, the municipality could fine you and if you dawdle long enough this can be several hundred Euro.

I am not sure how happy they will be, if they realize your documents are coming by post from outside of Germany.
