ELECTRONICS STORES IN PUNTA CANA?

°µÍø½ûÇøRusher

Hi, all!!

Our trip in Punta Cana is going well. We rented one if DominicanadaMike's apartments in Setena Village and it is great.

But, we're in need of a travel-sized printer.

Where could one get one of those here in Punta Cana, Bavaro or Immediate region??

Corripio?

@DRVisitor

Thanks for the advice, we went to Corripio to check it out.  Unfortunately, they carry ZERO computers or accessories in the PUC store.

  • They do carry some computers and accessories -- including a few printers -- online for delivery.
  • However, none of the printers match our needs for a super-light travel printer.

Still, THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION!!  It was worth a try.

Anyone else with suggestions for an electronics /accessories store in Punta Cana region?

Again, we are looking for a travel-sized printer.  Small, lightweight, one-sheet feed.  Not too expensive.

Any recommendations for a store that would carry such printers?

IF NOT A PHYSICAL STORE, HOW ABOUT AN ONLINE SOURCE?

  • Does Mercado Libre (the LA ebay?) operate in the DR?
  • Any other website?

Many thanks for any and all suggestions!!

Plaza llama or Electro llama

You should be able to find that at Omega Tech. Not too far from. where you are.

Hey, everyone, thanks for all the advice.

We finally found a reasonable HP printer model 2775 at ELECTRO LAMA in PC.

A funny side note, though:  when we first walked in and asked (in Spanish) where the printers were, the young gent told us they DID NOT carry printers at all!

  • Perhaps the assistant was new, or perhaps we spoke bad Espanol.

Okay.  So, since we're there, I needed to use the bano anyway.     While waiting in a line to access that bano, I gazed across the way...and there were 3 types of printer on the shelving near the entrance to the Men's bano.   One was an acceptable cost/benefit value, so we bought it.

The Lessons Learned are:

  • Google translate is more precise than most beginning Spanish speakers.
  • Sometimes it pays to wander around the store a bit, anyway.Â
