Best place to stay in Phuket on a budget

krusalah

Hi All,

Heading to Phuket this weekend, overwhelmed by the number of options for accommodation -does anyone have any recommendations?  Looking for a place really near the beach, also near the party scene but not in it.  Doesn't need to be a fancy resort as we're teachers on break for the King's bday -but would like it to be nice and relaxing.

Ideas?

Hi krusalah, welcome on °µÍø½ûÇø-blog! :)

You may also check on the Phuket classifieds > accommodation section and even post an advert there.

I wish you good luck and hope other members will be able to advice you.

Whats your budget?

krusalah

Well...since we're a group of teachers, very small budget.  We would like to spend around 1500 Baht per night.

You can try C&N Hotel and °µÍø½ûÇø Hotel to see if they fit your needs.  Depending on how many rooms you need they may cut rates a little from advertised if you talk to them on the phone.

You can also just arrive in Phuket and make your way to Patong Beach and walk the area looking for a place.  I have done before and had no problems finding a room.

My girlfriend and I are visiting Phuket January 2012.  We are planning to stay for several months and will have  hotel accomodations for a few days when we arrive.  We would like to rent long term but have not booked anything in advance.  We're thinking that it might be wise to consult a local (realtor?) who could direct us to a beach area which might fit our needs and our budget.  Any ideas?   Thanks!

Hello to all,

There are certainly many options available to you at 1500 per night, assuming that is per person rather than the whole group.

Patong is very busy and not the kind of place i like to stay, although its worth a visit.

I live in Rawai - south part of the island. Generally it is locals and long-stay °µÍø½ûÇøs here. we have some of the best beaches on the island and is still quick (20 mins) to get to patong and kata and karon even quicker. Its certainly possible to find reasonable if not quite nice accommodation on your budget around here, also with a group its possible to combine your money and rent a house for long or short term.

If you would like help finding a place around here then message me and i'll be happy to assist.

If you are looking for longer stay options i went through a local agent (Phuket Estate Agents) they were very helpful and found me a good place in my budget. You could always try them, i think their website is phuket-estate-agents.com
