How to transfer money to Malaysia

dohremi

I need to do an international transfer from Germany to account in KL. The German bank says they only do transfers in Euro or USD, not in Ringit. How does one deal with this?

Alternatively, could I draw cash on my credit card from a bank?

Much appreciated.

Hi - There are three ways.

1. Open a Euro account at your Malaysian bank (you can have accounts in USD and EUR here) then exchange required amounts into your Ringgit account - this requires you to attend the bank.
2. Just make an online EUR transfer direct to your RM account in Malaysia and the exchange is done automatically into Ringgit on arrival of the funds.
3. Use your debit/credit card and take out money from an ATM (daily limit is RM1500)
