26% tax

chris333

Hi All

From what I understand I will be taxed 26% during my first 6 months of employment in Malaysia.

Does anyone know if any of this can be rebated once 6 months has past?

Does anyone have any ways that there company has managed to get around this 26%?  such as getting paid allowances instead of salary etc..

Thanks any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Chris

You claim it back in April (tax year Jan - Dec) and get it back first week of May.

There are no legal ways of avoiding it as per most countries! BIKs are taxable. If you try to avoid I suggest you look at a Malaysian prison first!

There are allowances such as Health and 3,000 RM on a computer every 3 years. very easy if just paid a salary.
