Moving soon to Shanghai

vikas02350

Hi,

Myself Vikas, I am Indian and will be coming to Shanghai by end of August.
My office would be near WaiGaoQiao-Free-Trade-Zone, PuDong Dist, ShangHai. My company is not providing me any accommodation so I am looking for some help here. Also from the look of it this place seems happening so hopefully will be able to make good friends as well.
Also it would be great if anybody can guide me about travelling to Shanghai.

Cheers

Hi Vikas,

Welcome to °µÍø½ûÇø-blog!

I suggest you to post an advert in the Housing in Shanghai section, this might help you find an accommodation. ;)

Best of luck, :)

David.

I will be joining IBM here. And they are processing work permit for me. Its just accommodation I am worried about.

Hi berry,

Thanks for the update but I am looking at shared space my budget is not more than 3000 rmb for first month. After this I may get some frnds and try to get 2-3 bhk place on rent. Also I am not able to find any location specifically near to WaiGaoQiao free trade zone, Can you please help me with this?

Hi There,

Waigaiqiao is extremely far from the City center. Roughly 1 hr by metro- and basically considered the middle of nowhere. While your company isn't providing your accommodation- maybe at least they can suggest some places. I had a friend who lived out there and had a decent apt, so I am certain they exist- though may only be available locally- when you arrive.

cheers

It seems to be not easy to find a place to live around the place you work.Iv checked so many places for you. Here may be the best choice till now with good price and transportation.

2) Completely filled Chinese Visa Application form.

5) Photocopy of PassportÂ’s front data page, last page and earlier traveled Chinese Visa copies.
6) Original invitation letter of duly authorized unit from China. OR Original company invitation letter along with Original confirmation letter from China.
7) Original & photo copy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigner issued by doctors from any Indian government hospital completely filled. OR From Chinese government hospital. The photo on the Record should also be stamped by the hospital & signed by the authorized doctor. (This will remain Valid for 3 months from issued date).
8) Employment approval document (alien license or working card) issued by Relevant Authorities in China, namely China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Ministry of Human Resources and  Social Security, State Bureau of Foreign Experts etc as applicable. Original & Photocopy.
9).InviterÂ’s company introduction letter with mentioning no. of foreigner & Indian employee
10)  Photocopy of applicantÂ’s professional & educational qualification certificate.

I already got all the items from this list but I have not received Item # 9(InviterÂ’s company introduction letter) from my employer. I am looking for some help please share your expertise if you have any idea about it.

Hi KrisD,

Thanks for the information, I am trying to get accommodation in Guanglan now. Hope this place is ok.

berrylew

Hi vikas,
Most times, what they need is what you should prepare. You should get everything prepared before the day you start the journey.
I think the only thing you should do is calling your emplyer to send you the letter as soon as posible.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
