Contemporary Art Scene Mauritius

Hi, I am an artist considering relocating to Mauritus and I would like to get a feel for the contemporary art scene in Mauritus, particularly related to visual arts. Are there many spaces,events and oppourtunities for emerging artists? Are there creative communities that I could join for networking and support?聽 What is the access to art supplies like? Will I be able to聽 buy聽 quality oil paints / cotton canvas / clay/ at reasonable prices?

I would be grateful for any info or help offered.

@Mohini17 Hi I am an Australian Gallery owner and art collector, apart from a framer who had local and international art at his premises for framing, I have not seen any good art in Mauritius at all, all the local artist's works are like high school standard.聽 Disappointed and we have been here over a year.聽 We cannot sell our art until we have been here for three years.聽 But always are looking for good artists who celebrate the human form.聽 Please do your research as it may be an opening for you as many people here have the funds to buy great art.
