Hello,

If there is anyone who is able to answer my question regarding rental contract, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've been living in the apartment for about 6 years. For the past year, the owner had not given us an actual written and signed contract. Whenever, we'd ask, he would delay it.

Our current rent is 4500le. Yesterday, he informed us that for the next 6 months we'll have to pay 5000le. Our contract renewal is only in December. So basically, is he allowed to increase mid contract? (This is the second time that the owner increased the rent mid contract). Thereafter, he'll be increasing it to 10,000 le, which is too steep for me.

As far as I know, the owner can increase by 10% and 15% upon renewal of contract.

I would appreciate if anyone can assist on clarification.
